For their Travel & Other Tales segment for July’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar, we were invited to style their event that was held at The Audience Suite at Carcosa Seri Negara. Taking international travel as an inspiration we used a wide selection of flowers, bird cages, faux vintage suitcases and black & white photos of international landmark.
I am always attracted to all things Thai when it comes to food. having recently discovered a small yet wonderful piece of Thailand in Pandan Indah (off all places!)
i set out to create a light, yet refreshing appetiser that played homage to the ever-influential Thai cuisine.
Using fresh tiger prawns that were marinated in a mixture of galangal, lemongrass, Thai chilli flakes, grilling them until the shell and heads are crunchy to the bite, yet keeping the flesh succulent and sweet. pairing off the prawns with a light salsa of fresh watermelons and sarawak pineapple with a Thai lime vinaigrette.
